Skiing - Day 2

A cloudy start to the day didn't stop the beginners trying a chair lift for the first time. They all had a great morning with their instructors pushing them more as the day went on. We have two awards that are given out after every morning and afternoon session and the students who win those awards get to wear a cover over their helmet. The student who we decide has skied the best for that session, whether its because they made the most improvement or that they were just the best skier out of all the groups gets to wear flames on their helmet. The skier who we feel has made the most effort is awarded the helmet cover which has stars on it. After a hard days skiing we had a games night after dinner where students played pool, table football and board games while listening to music.

Skiing - Day 1

We couldn't have asked for better weather for our first day on the slopes, a glorious sunny day with blue sky. The two beginner groups started on the nursery slopes just to find their feet and progressed so well that before lunch they did their first run back down to the bottom. The intermediate group went straight for the chair lift and quickly improved as the morning went on. Homemade pizza, chips and salad was their lunch time fuel and the afternoon session went really quickly, with everyone saying how much they had enjoyed their day! After tea (what's a Sunday without a roast dinner?!) we did a town trail where students got to know Risoul and went out with a map and a quiz. Hot chocolate was provided for them all afterwards before an early(ish) night, which was needed after the busy day they've had!
